How to Choose a University Career
10 things that I have learned as a university student and as a mother:
2/10 – Try a Foreign University
Try it, what are you afraid of ?
You will know another country, another culture, you will learn a language… in short, it will make you more independent, a more self-confident person, more flexible, more sociable, your CV will be better valued because they will appreciate the audacity that comes with going to study another country… and if you go and do not like it, you can return to your country and graduate, you have nothing to lose, only the experience if you do not go.
What does it cost? Did you know that there are sports scholarships to go to study in the United States or European countries where education is free for a European citizen?
The worst thing is not to consider this possibility, which is called “unconscious ignorance”, the worst of ignorances:
“Unfortunately, we don’t not know what we don’t know …” Daniel Kahneman
… but we should know about our life situation: like, for example, to consider studying abroad or how to do to study in other foreign Universities.
And, I advance you, Europe has several programs to help European students to study the university career in other countries of the European Union, not only the well-known Erasmus from the third course. And, there are also European Universities with campuses in different countries and continents (Africa, Malaysia, Dubai …) in which you can study some of the years of the degree.
And, a warning to younger navigators: by the year 2024 there will be twenty European Universities that will allow you to obtain a degree studying every year in a different European country creating 20 transnational campuses with automatic validation, the Civis alliance (European Civic University).
Find out, there is “a world full of possibilities”.
